We appreciate that some students may take longer to be ready for assessment than others.
For that reason we will allow assessments for a standard to be completed at various times.
However, if a student is being assessed later he will have a different task than those who
were assessed earlier.
We will have a Quality Management System in place to ensure our assessments are appropriate and
student responses are authentic.
Moderation
Moderation is a key aspect of assessment, especially for a small school such as Auckland Sports
College. It is likely that, at least in our establishment years when our staff numbers will be small,
we will send more student work
out for external moderation (review by an experienced teacher from another school to check
that the grade we have awarded is the right grade) than do bigger schools.
Authenticity
Teachers must be satisfied that assessments submitted are those of the student who wants the credits.
The three main ways in which student work is not authentic are
when it is copied, either from another student or from a cheat site, or from anywhere else
when it is done by someone else, including AI, and also when too much help is
provided by a teacher, tutor, or friend.
when the answers are provided. This is our fault if an assessment is publicly available
and we haven't modified the test sufficiently.
